The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 500 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for stacking and moving bins, loading or unloading packed fruit from the racks, loading bins onto or off of equipment, and loading or unloading trucks (bins, supplies). All duties must be performed in a safe manner to ensure compliance with government regulations, industry standards and customer requirements to ensure both food and workers safety. This position is for our Northern locations (Winfield and Kelowna) in which the chosen candidates should be expected to be scheduled for either.

The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Follow all pertinent food safe and safe work procedures as required
• To load, unload, stack and move bins and pallets of packed fruit and supplies.
• To load and unload trucks and graders.
• At times, nest bins and perform light bin repair duties.
• Safe and efficient operation of the lift truck at all times.
• Understanding the requirements of the job and maintaining records pertaining to the job.
• Any other duties assigned within the nature of the job.

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• Have the aptitude to operate equipment and carry out general lift truck maintenance.
• Be able to communicate effectively with all employees and management.
• Be comfortable working with and around machinery in a team environment.
• Must be able to work all shifts as required.
• Valid forklift ticket is mandatory
• Have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Looking for an exciting career opportunity? BC Tree Fruits Cooperative is looking for an individual to join our marketplace team and fill a position as a Full-time Store Clerk in our Kelowna store. Our ideal candidate will be a mature, patient and engaging individual who works well under pressure in a very busy and fast paced environment.

The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 500 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Retail Store Manager and be responsible for selling vegetables, local product, and BCTFC fruits grown right in the Okanagan Valley, while providing excellent customer service and exuding passion for the industry.
The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Organize and maintain sales area, stock and face shelves
• Fill racks and bins, rotating products, recording shrink
• Run the cashier in a friendly manner
• Unload and receive freight
• Adhere to opening and closing responsibilities
• Field and respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional manner

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• 5+ years in a customer service role
• Experience with POS systems and grocery retail
• Ability to deal with any customer complaints/or inquiries

The Human Resources Generalist will assist with the implementation of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in helping with employee and labour relations, departmental development, job evaluations, organization development, executive administration, disciplinary action, and special projects. This will be a full-time position from Monday-Friday, based in downtown Kelowna but includes travel throughout the Okanagan Valley.

The successful candidate will have the following key accountabilities:
• Maintain continuous communication with key union employees and plant administrators and build effective working relationships
• Act as the Union’s initial point of contact for Human Resources related inquiries and provide appropriate guidance and direction while acting as a liaison to communication and grievance issues to the HR Manager
• Advise and assist plant management on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs
• Advise plant administration and management with collective agreement interpretation to ensure consistency
• Participates in the development and the delivery of Human Resources training programs
• Maintains effective communication with all members, assists with various projects, and gives project updates when required
• Assists with administrative functions within the department
• Management of confidential employee records, ensuring all records are up to date and accurate
• Assist the Employee Relations Coordinator with union management, plant administrator correspondence, record auditing, exit interviews, performance evaluation and project coordination
• Assist the Recruiter with general hiring
• Assist the Health and Wellness Coordinator with duties as needed
• Follows laws, guidelines, policies, and practices in matters of human resources and employment, as well as following internal policies
• Assist with all other day-to-day efficient operations of the HR office

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative is currently looking for a motivated, team player, who is committed to quality service as a Cold Storage Operator in our Southern district working in Summerland, Oliver, and Osoyoos.

The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Monitor plant refrigeration facilities and equipment in cold storage areas and controlled atmosphere rooms
• Work on and assist in the installation and maintenance of numerous electrical or pressure-operated controls pertinent to all systems;
• Required to interpret system performance, diagnose faults and perform effective follow-up
• Keep in consistent communication with Management regarding issues, projects and timelines

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• Valid Refrigeration Operators ticket is mandatory
• Possess experience working with ammonia as a refrigerant
• Technical knowledge to assist in a multitude of assignments with or without direct supervision
• Safety conscious
• Available to work a variety of shifts and hours including weekends and evenings in any of the facilities and be on-call when required by the employer in the geographical area

The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 500 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

This position involves full cycle payroll from time entries to pay calculations and deposits, government remittances and T4 preparations, benefit calculations and all other mandated remittances. The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of payroll. They will coordinate the entries between the time system and the payroll program for accurate reporting for all hourly employees and completing payroll for salaried employees to ensure all calculations are done according to the Collective Agreement and all pertinent laws and regulations for BC Tree Fruits and Growers Supply.

The successful candidate will have the following key accountabilities:
• Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary and hourly disbursement, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with relevant legislation.
• Coach, mentor, train and coordinate the activities of relevant staff within Employee Services.
• Prepare complex payroll and human resource information for data input and assist with checking, quality control and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity.
• Assist the organization to meet its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, related reports, forms and other documentation as requested.
• Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required to ensure employee payments are processed accurately and database integrity is maintained.
• Provide and promote service excellence and foster effective teamwork and business relationships.
• Contribute to the application and monitoring of HR practices, principles, and delegations.
• Contribute to process improvement by participating in a range of payroll and service delivery reform activities.
