Production Custodial Foreman

Looking for an exciting new opportunity to jump start your career? BC Tree Fruits Cooperative is seeking a motivated hands-on Production Custodial Foreman to join our team!

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by over 500+ fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, has approximately 450 employees, and operates multiple packing and storage facilities.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Custodial Foreman will be primarily responsible for overseeing, coaching, and directing custodians in providing cleaning services to the entire premises, production facilities, and equipment. The successful applicant will also be trained in level II First Aid/CPR, in order to be the first on call for work related injuries.

Key Accountabilities:
• Monitors work habits of staff to ensure high levels of work quality and productivity
• Ensures work procedures are being properly performed and safety practices are being enforced
• Trains staff on proper care and use of custodial equipment, and chemicals and supplies
• Maintain supplies and equipment inventory, placing orders as necessary
• Maintains records and reports regarding product use and purchasing of supplies and equipment
• Works closely with Plant Management and Human Resources on work place related issues and document as needed, including all records and corrective actions
• Cleaning of production equipment, food, tools, surfaces, and other applicable work stations

Key Attributes:
• Excellent verbal/written communication;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• High school diploma/or equivalent;
• 3+ years with management experience;
• Knowledge of standard sanitation operating procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
• Able to participate in and pass all BCTF Janitorial courses
• Level II First Aid/CPR

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by over 500+ fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, has approximately 450 employees, and operates multiple packing and storage facilities.

Reporting to the Production Custodial Foreman, the Production Custodian will be primarily responsible for providing cleaning services to the entire premises, production facilities, and equipment. We require an individual who can work independently but also as a team player to allow for efficiency and best cleaning practices. The successful applicant will also be trained in level II First Aid/CPR in order to be the first on call for work related injuries.

Key accountabilities:
• Cleaning of production equipment, food areas, tools, surfaces, and other applicable work stations
• Cleaning of surfaces in adjacent cold storage facilities and hallways as well as building exteriors
• Sanitization of all cleaned food contact surfaces, removal of garbage, fruit rot and debris from lines
• Deep cleaning activities (monthly and annual tasks)
• Draining, cleaning and filling water flume systems, tanks and ORP systems as well as chlorination of water systems as required
• Operation of machinery such as belts and rollers for the purposes of cleaning

Key attributes:
• High school diploma/or equivalent;
• 3+ years custodial work, preferably in a production plant;
• Knowledge of Standard sanitation operating procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
• Able to participate in and pass all BCTF Janitorial courses
• Level II First Aid/CPR
