The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 500 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Agrologist at our Oliver location that will report directly to the Grower Services Manager.

The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Assist growers with crop production and risk management decisions
• Provide technical support to purchasing, sales and marketing
• Provide leadership and direction to store counter staff
• Organize and facilitate workshops and information sessions for both growers and staff
• Liaise with Federal and Provincial government professionals and other industry representatives
• Must become knowledgeable about company operations such as billing, inventory control, procedures and policies

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• Horticulture degree or diploma is an asset
• BC Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate
• Strong background in BC agriculture with experience in horticulture and pest management
• Understanding of regulatory environment for the BC farm and ranch community
• Understanding of scientific protocols, statistical analyses and extension principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sales aptitude
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Be required to obtain a criminal record check

-- Inventory & Warehouse Coordinator - Creston --

Growers Supply Company Limited is a wholesale and retail supplier of agricultural products in BC with 6 locations throughout the Okanagan and Kootenay regions.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Receiving & Warehouse Coordinator at our Creston location.

The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Coordinate and communicate incoming inventory and trucking with Warehouse Manger
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels
• Accurately maintain and receive product into the system with bill of lading
• Reconcile any receiving discrepancies
• Process receiving reports accurately and timely
• Ensure shipping procedures are followed WHMIS, MSDS, TDG on outgoing freight
• Leverage best practices for organization development and support with policies and procedures to encourage co-workers follow suite
• Communicate effectively with customers in a courteous demeanor and follow up if necessary to ensure they are happy with their product

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by over 500+ fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, has approximately 450 employees, and operates multiple packing and storage facilities. We are looking for an outstanding individual for the role of Field Service to join our Grower Services team in Kelowna.

The successful applicant will report to the Grower Services Manager and will have the following key accountabilities:
• Improve grower profitability through on-farm grower education and communication;
• Assist growers with strategic planning and advising on variety selection, tree-training, thinning, pruning and harvest advice;
• Address all horticultural questions raised by grower community;
• Prepare crop estimate reports, damage reports, and fruit quality assessments;
• Travel to various industry locations in the Okanagan Valley as required;
• Assist other team members with related horticultural projects, as needed

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills;
• Degree, diploma or equivalent in Horticulture, Agriculture or related field;
• 3+ years in horticulture experience;
• Knowledge of on-farm food safety requirements and good agricultural practices preferred;
• Pesticide applicator’s license preferred.

Growers Supply Company Limited, a long established supplier of agricultural, nursery and garden center products is currently seeking a motivated and dedicated sales driven individual as a Territorial Sales Representative for our Central Okanagan Locations, including Kelowna and Penticton, but will be required to travel throughtout the Okanagan.

Territorial Sales Representative Responsibilities?
• Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential markets
• Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of farm accounts and dealers
• Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature
• Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
• Actively seek and generate new business for the company as well as promote the GS brand
• Maintain accurate records of sales and activities including sales calls, presentations and closed sales
• Keep current with all related products and pricing
• Provide product information and merchandising support to all clients

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative is currently looking for a motivated, team player, who is committed to quality service as a Cold Storage Operator in our Southern district working in both Oliver and Osoyoos.

The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Monitor plant refrigeration facilities and equipment in cold storage areas and controlled atmosphere rooms
• Work on and assist in the installation and maintenance of numerous electrical or pressure-operated controls pertinent to all systems
• Required to interpret system performance, diagnose faults and perform effective follow-up
• Keep in consistent communication with Management regarding issues, projects and timelines

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• Possess experience working with ammonia as a refrigerant
• Technical knowledge to assist in a multitude of assignments with or without direct supervision
• Valid Refrigeration Operators ticket (5th Class Power Engineer min)
• Safety conscious and physically fit
• Available to work a variety of shifts and hours including weekends and evenings in any of the facilities and be on-call when required by the employer in the geographical area
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
