-- Part-time Weekend Cidery Tasting Assistant --

The new BC Tree Fruits Cider Company is currently seeking a motivated, responsible individual to join our team as a Cidery Tasting Assistant. Our ideal candidate will be organized, upbeat, and enjoy working with people. This is a part-time weekend position requiring the individual to work 6 hour shifts every weekend until mid-September

The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 500 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

The successful applicant will have the following key accountabilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist the organization in building the BC Tree Fruit Cider brand in order to increase sales
• Educating customers about the cider and the cidermaking process
• Preparing and distributing cider samples to customers
• Responsible for accurate inventory management and control
• Keeping constant and effective communication with the Cidery Manager and Cidery Sales and Orders Agent

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Serving It Right Certificate
• Demonstrated team player with the ability to work under high pressure situations
• Possess the flexibility to work both evenings and weekends
• Completion of the Wine Ambassador or Sommelier/WSET course is an asset
• Must possess a passion of cider/ wine and the industry
• Results-oriented attitude

Hourly wage = $14.00/hour

-- Local Sales Assistant - Oliver & Osoyoos --

Looking for an exciting new opportunity to jump start your career? BC Tree Fruits Cooperative is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual as a Local Sales Assistant to join our team working out of both Oliver and Osoyoos!

The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 500 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

The overall objective of the Local Sales Assistant is to provide support in optimizing grower returns, while maintaining and building strong customer relations through excellence in service.

The successful candidate will have the following key accountabilities:
• Assess fruit quality and establish price points required to sell product at maximized returns
• Allocate product volumes to appropriate customers based on profitability and availability
• Selling both packed and bulk fruit that has limited demand from mainstream corporate customers
• Contribute to strategic planning by providing market intelligence including: price, demand, and projected sales volumes.
• Assist in development of Sales Plan for small volume niche commodities and varieties
• Communicate product pricing and availability with Local Sales Customer base on an ongoing basis
• Coordinate order placement, pick up timing, and location
• Field and respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional manner and in accordance with established policies
• Produce invoices and receive payment when required
• Work closely with the local sales account managers servicing their needs.

• Food Safe knowledge
• Produce Market knowledge
• Basic warehousing and shipping knowledge
• Quick leaner
• Understanding of fruit quality and grade standards
• High school Diploma
• Professional Sales Diploma or Degree related to Sales and Marketing is an asset
• Willingness to work flexible hours when needed
• Valid driver’s license and able to travel between locations when needed
• 5+ years sales experience
