PLANT ADMINISTRATOR

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by over 500+ fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, has approximately 450 employees, and operates multiple packing and storage facilities. We require an outstanding individual for the role of part-time Plant Administrator to work in our Northern packing facilities.
The successful applicant will report to the Plant Manager and will have the following key accountabilities:
• Customer service and reception duties in dealing with growers, visitors and contractors; allowing proper access to plant areas and personnel;
• Address grower inquiries, receiving paperwork, bin reconciliations, compiling and distributing grower packouts;
• Employee paperwork, new hire information, timecards, leave of absences, absenteeism tracking, scheduling;
• Assist in the management of purchase orders; fruit inventory; calculate daily running costs;
• Have good customer service skills, phone etiquette, sense of humor and professionalism;
• Travel to various industry locations in the Okanagan Valley as required, mostly Kelowna and Winfield;
• OHS administration, claims management documentation and communication.

The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
• strong communication skills both written and verbal;
• highly organized, accurate, attention to detail, able to manage time/multitask in a fast paced environment;
• like working with a diverse group of people;
• be diplomatic and objective;
• customer service excellence and a strong team player;
• excellent computer knowledge, in particular MS Office suite;
• office administration diploma and 5+ years administration experience considered an asset.

PRODUCTION CLERK

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by over 500+ fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, has approximately 450 employees, and operates multiple packing and storage facilities. We require an outstanding individual for the role of Production Clerk to work fulltime in our Northern packing facilities.

The successful candidate must:
• Have an aptitude for numbers and analyzing data;
• Be consistent, accurate and able to cope with a high volume of paper flow;
• Have strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Able to learn industry specific software quickly;
• Have good customer service skills, phone etiquette, sense of humor and professionalism;
• Travel to various industry locations in the Okanagan Valley as required, mostly Kelowna and Winfield;
• Administrative experience in a production facility preferred.

The duties of this position will include:
• Calculating production/grading data;
• Processing grower packouts;
• Prepare daily cost sheets;
• Fruit inventory control;
• Monitoring and maintaining procedures/systems;
• Support reception duties, office administration, and switchboard coverage.

HORTICULTURIST/FIELDMAN

BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by over 500+ fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, has approximately 450 employees, and operates multiple packing and storage facilities. We are looking for outstanding individuals for the role of Horticulturist/Fieldman to join our Grower Services team in the Vernon area.
The successful applicants will report to the Grower Services Manager and will have the following key accountabilities:
- Improve Grower profitability through on farm grower education and communication;
- Assist with strategic planning and advising on variety selection, training and growth methods, thinning, pruning and training advice;
- Address all horticultural questions raised by grower community;
- Prepare crop estimate reports, damage reports, and quality assessment
- Travel to various industry locations in the Okanagan Valley as required;
- Assist other members of department as needed.
The successful applicant will be qualified by possessing the following key attributes:
- Excellent communicator and strong interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of food safety requirements and agricultural practices preferred;
- Pesticide applicator’s ticket preferred;
- 3+ years in horticulture experience preferred.
- Degree, diploma or equivalent in Horticulture preferred.
