Wilfrid and Sally Mennell

Wilfrid and Sally don’t operate a farm. They operate farms. Two to be exact, near Cawston, BC. And they’ve been Certified Organic farmers for more than 30 years. A while back they made a discovery. It was a chance seedling. The apples from this tree captivated everyone who tried them. So they grafted cuttings and developed the variety that we now know and love – Ambrosia.

“Growing Ambrosias has been very rewarding,” notes Wilfrid, “Beyond our expectations. They’re gaining international recognition too.” In addition to Ambrosias, the Mennells grow several other varieties of apples, pears and Italian plums.
