Argentinean Pears
In order to extend the season for pears, B.C. Tree Fruits sources pears from Argentina when the supply of BC pears comes to an end. You can choose from the same delicious varieties as well as the Packham variety, a medium to large pear with bumpy green skin. Although the skin does not change colour, ripe Packhams smell very fragrant and yield slightly to pressure at the stem end. Their smooth-textured, juicy, sweet flesh is great for eating fresh or for baking and cooking. Argentinean pears are usually available from mid-February to early July.
