Serves 6 to 8.
2 - 9 inch frozen deep dish pie shells or homemade crust
2 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 medium pear, peeled and sliced
1 cup (250 ml) fresh or frozen cranberries
3/4 cup (175 ml) granulated sugar
3 tablespoons (45 ml) flour
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) grated orange rind
Prepare pie shells according to package directions for a double crust pie. Combine filling ingredients; mix well. Spoon into pie shell. Cover with second pie shell; seal and flute edge. Cut steam vents on top. Place on baking sheet and bake in preheated 425° F (225° C) oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° F (180° C) and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.
