If you love apples and love chocolate, this is the treat for you!
Makes 9 large brownies.
1/2 cup (125 ml) butter
1/4 cup (80 ml) cocoa powder
2 eggs
3/4 cup (175 ml) sugar
3/4 cup (175 ml) flour
1/2 cup (125 ml) walnuts
2 cups (500 ml) coarsely grated apple, unpeeled
Melt butter and cocoa powder over medium heat. Remove from heat and set aside. In mixing bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Stir in all remaining ingredients. Pour into prepared 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake at 350° (180° C) for 35-40 minutes. Cool. Frost if desired.
