Ingredients


  • 1/2 cup Softened Butter
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 8 oz (250 g) Softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 4 cups peeled & sliced BCTF Apples, mixed variety
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (optional) Slivered almonds, walnuts, or pecans
  • Optional Easter Special Easter chocolate candy eggs

Directions


  • STEP 1

    For the Base

    Roughly mix softened butter, sugar, vanilla, and flour using a hand pastry blender or food processor.  Press the crumbly dough evenly into a glass 9-inch pie plate and freeze while the rest is prepared.

  • STEP 2

    For The Filling

    Blend the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla well by hand or machine; spread over frozen base.

  • STEP 3

    For The Topping

    Toss peeled and sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar, layer over cream cheese filling.  Top with nuts or press the candy eggs around the perimeter.

  • STEP 4

    Bake on a centre rack for 10 minutes at 450°F, then reduce temperature to 400°F and bake another 20 minutes.
